Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 10, 2026

This website is run by the Gallina Canyon Neighborhood Association (GCNA), a 501(c)(3) non-profit serving Gallina Canyon Road and the surrounding neighborhood. This page explains what information the site collects, why, and how you can ask us to change or remove it. We collect as little as we can, and we never sell your information.

What we collect

  • Comments: the name, email address and comment you enter, plus your IP address and browser details. Your name and comment are shown publicly; your email address is not. To filter spam, comments are checked by Akismet (see “Who we share it with” below).
  • Messages and forms: anything you send us through a contact or concerns form, including your name and email address.
  • Dues payments and donations: your name, email address, payment amount and, for dues, your lot or property address. Card and bank account details are handled by our payment processor, not stored on this site (see below).
  • Site logins: if you have an account, your username and email address.
  • Petition signatures: your first name, last name and email address when you sign a petition on this site.
  • Email updates: your email address, and your name if you give it, when you’re on the GCNA mailing list. We also keep a record of when you signed up or were added and whether you’ve unsubscribed.

How we use it

  • To publish and moderate comments.
  • To respond to your messages and concerns.
  • To record dues and donations and send receipts, including tax receipts for donations.
  • To contact residents about association business, road maintenance and issues that affect the neighborhood.
  • To send GCNA email updates. The mailing list is used only for GCNA news and business. It is never shared outside GCNA, other than with the service that delivers our emails, and never sold or used for advertising or spam. Each email goes to you individually, so other subscribers can’t see your address. Every email includes a link to unsubscribe or update your details.
  • To deliver petitions to the agencies they are addressed to and to show how much support a petition has.
We do not use your information for advertising.

Online payments

Online dues and donations are processed by Stripe through the WP Simple Pay plugin. Your card or bank account details go directly to Stripe and are never stored on this website. If you pay from a bank account, Stripe may ask you to log in to your bank to confirm the account; GCNA never sees your bank login. Stripe’s handling of your information is covered by the Stripe Privacy Policy.

Residents-only information

Some pages, such as the property owners directory, are password-protected and meant only for neighborhood residents. They contain information drawn from public county records and from residents themselves. We publish phone numbers or email addresses in these pages only with the owner’s permission. Please don’t share the password or copy these pages outside the neighborhood.

Cookies

This site uses a small number of cookies that are needed for it to work: to keep you logged in, to remember your name and email if you choose that option when commenting, and to let you view password-protected pages. Stripe may set cookies during a payment to prevent fraud, and Cloudflare Turnstile may check your browser on the payment form to confirm you’re a person, not a spam bot.

Content from other websites

Some pages link to or embed content from other sites, such as the U.S. Forest Service, news articles, maps or videos. Those sites may collect information about you under their own privacy policies.

Who we share it with

We share information only when needed: payment details with Stripe; comments and form messages with Akismet, a spam-filtering service run by Automattic, which checks them for spam (see the Automattic Privacy Policy); your email address and name with MailPoet, also run by Automattic, which sends our email updates; basic browser information with Cloudflare Turnstile, which protects the payment and email signup forms from bots (see the Cloudflare Privacy Policy); information with the companies that host and maintain this website; and information required by law. When we deliver a petition, we give the agency it is addressed to the signers’ names and may include their email addresses so the agency can verify that signatures are genuine. We don’t share petition email addresses with anyone else, and we never sell or rent your information.

How long we keep it

We keep petition signatures while a petition is active and for a reasonable time afterward as a record of community support. Comments stay up unless you ask us to remove them. Dues and payment records are kept as long as needed for the association’s financial records and tax reporting.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, including removing a comment or a petition signature, or taking your details out of the residents directory. You can stop email updates at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any GCNA email. Contact us using the details below and we’ll respond as soon as we can.
